Nellie Longarms (6:44)

Cover of 2009 Demo

From 2009 Demo and 1 other release

This is the second track off Funeral Hag’s first recording, and also the track that started it all. Originally recorded by guitarist Jon Hill in 2008, this is the song that inspired the rest of the band to sign up under the Funeral Hag banner. This one of the slowest, doomiest Funeral Hag songs. There are two versions recorded, the original version that was on Myspace featuring Jon playing all instruments, doing vocals and programming drums, and the new version featured here with the whole band. The lyrical theme is a children’s story based on the facts and folklore of the Cheshire Village of Wybunbury about a creature called Nellie Longarms that lives in the bog called Wynbury Moss.
