Britain VA, United States (1991 – present)

Fun-Da-Mental is a radical, multi-ethnic, , and ethno techno band formed in 1991. The style of the group mixes Eastern and Western musical and cultural influences, featuring British dance club electronics, Indian, Afro-Caribbean, and worldbeat samples.

Thematically, Fun-Da-Mental is concerned with , particularly in regard to Britain’s treatment of its Asian and Afro-Caribbean citizens.

The core members of the group consist of Aki Nawaz (who uses the stage name “Propa-Gandhi”) and Dave Watts (who goes by “Impi-D”). Nawaz (who was a member of Southern Death Cult using his proper name Haq Qureshi) formed the group along with Man-Tharoo (also known as Goldfinger), DJ Obeah, and Bad-Sha Lallaman. They played the Notting Hill Carnival in August 1991. The group later added lyricist Amir Ali, percussionist Inder Matharu, guitarist Count Dubulah, and Watts, but lost Man-Tharoo, DJ Obeah, and Lallaman. MC Mushtaq and Hot Dog Dennis joined the group prior to their first full-length release, 1995’s Seize the Time on Mammoth Records.

@alonzobistro69 ; Bill Maher is certainly an honorable man and i agree with him in a lot of answers/opinions about political/religious questions, but simply allege Fun-Da-Mental "writing music for terrorist" is really too stupid, especially when you look into his (Zach216) library, where you can found many bands, who have violence against society in their lyrics. Don't they make "music for terrorists" as well??? Simplify your thoughts in this fuckin american (god bless america, coca cola, monsanto and mcdonalds) way of life is also no solution, because the lost/poor people in the third, second and first world have to pay for this decadent lifestyle, and i neither need an TV carrierist nor an religious fanatic to explore this facts. Who is now "the man who lost opportunity to mouth of"? Whatever, thanks for your feedback.

@benberzerc : You just qualified for "the man who lost an opportunity to mouth off" ! Thinking of Bill Maher and is brilliant documentary "Religulous" as a sort of brainwash Tv is just showing your ignorance ! And as much as I like Fun>Da>Mental music, Aki Nawaz turned into a total asshat regarding the religious question !..

@ Zach216 ; You seem to be a typical US american citizen, who just parrot, what your TV tells you about how the world goes round. Blow up your brain untill it becomes the size of a typical monsanto pea XD

Aki Nawaz sounds like a complete moron in Religulous, it's so funny to hear jackasses like him try to keep up Bill Maher. Just trying to be controversial by writing music for terrorists, the stuff you do means you ARE part of the problem, not solution you tool

All is War is not included under the labums, and it's one of their best. That's criminal.

Aki is one of our heroes. There would be less war with more personalities like him.
