Version 5

Friction was an early 90’s midwest post-hardcore/punk band based out of Illinois with Bob Nanna, Andy Knudsen, and Scott Snott. After disbanding in 1994 Bob(Robert) Nanna went on to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where formed the semi-ledgendary post-hardcore/indie band Braid. Following that was Hey Mercedes along with a solo project that can also be found under The City On Film. Bob Nanna now writes songs for Threadless.com.

Friction released a full length on Allied records and the tracks can now be found on Friction’s two disc set available from Polyvinyl records entitled “Hours of Operation.” For more information on Hey Mercedes visit Vagrant Records or Grandtheftautumn.com. Or visit the offical website for all of the bands at www.heymercedes.com.
