In My Defence (3:55)
From The Great Pretender and 9 other releases
Recorded at Abbey Road Studios in October 1985, while Queen were working on A Kind Of Magic. Freddie was initially hesitant to work on two separate projects simultaneously, and was keen on working with Brian, Roger, and John instead of with session musicians. Musical producer Dave Clark agreed that if Freddie was displeased with the results, he would finance sessions to re-record the song with Queen. Needless to say, Freddie was happy with the results, and, sadly, Queen versions of the song were never recorded.

Freddie Mercury – In My Defence
In my defence, what is there to say?
All the mistakes we've made must be faced today
It's not easy now, knowing where to start
While the world we love tears itself apart
