I'm really feeling some of these songs today (which, whilst excellent material, is not neccessarily a good thing. If suffering is an art form, then Lord, some of these folks are so much more than artists.) Feelings, so bad-and music so good.

clapton always cited freddie king as his major influence. as for the recording, in those days the performance and feel were the most important things. if this was re-recorded using pro tools etc, no doubt all of the feel would be squeezed out and we would be left with another dry, perfect sterile record, like most of the stuff produced nowadays

This is the real stuff. While i like the sound od the old recordings I would love to know what performances this era would sound like with current recording equipment technology and techniques.
