19 Aug 2010, 19:57 by RedStripe118I already loved Walk Away, and the rest of the album mostly hangs in good company with it. Everything about the overall sound - loud drums, aggressive but largely undistorted guitars, Alex's voice - works to the songs' advantage in my opinion. They put this sound to work in working across a diverse range of song styles, and greatly to their credit, absolutely all of the ones they tackle are done well - dance-rock (The Fallen, Do You Want To, What You Meant, Outsiders), upper-tempo alternative rock (This Boy, You're the Reason I'm Leaving, You Could Have It So Much Better), tempo-shifting combinations of the two (Well That Was Easy, I'm Your Villain), a balls-out sonic blast (Evil and a Heathen), and especially softer songs (aforementioned Walk Away, Eleanor Put Your Boots On, Fade Together).
Note that I've just referenced all twelve tracks by name; suffice to say, I think You Could Have It So Much Better is great.

#5 Black Fingernails, Red Wine - Eskimo Joe
This is one i discovered upon arriving home after travelling again. I went to the ARIA Awards which the Australian music awards with my brother and saw these guys perform Black Fingernails, Red Wine, and immediately went and bought the album, and i was not dissapointed. Other highlights include, New York, Comfort you, Sarah and This Is Pressure.
Pretty tight between the next 4, they are all awesome albums which have huge places in my ears.
#4 Eyes Open - Snow Patrol
I first heard these guys on BBC Radio 2 in the UK where is was working with the song You're All I Have and liked what i heard. Then it was Chasing Cars, which still to this day is right up there as one of my most played tracks. Other highlights are Set the Fire to the Third Bar and You Could Be Happy and the rest of the album.

31 Dec 2009, 15:50 by upesupernovaHi everybody! This is my first proper journal entry, so enjoy and comment if you want.
I've always been the kind of person who has lyrics stuck in its head, so a couple of years ago I started writing them down, specially in books, or notebooks. Eventually I made a list of my favourite ones. It was a nice list, and I really liked it, but I lost it. So I decided to make a new list, and I lost it too.
This is my third list, and I don't want to lose it, that's why I decided to write it here.
So, here it is:
" Living in the ruins of a castle build on sand" Tell the King
"About as subtle as an earthquake" My Mistakes Were Made for You
"And it's the fame that put words in her mouth, she couldn't help but spit them out" My Mistakes Were Made for You
"If you lost your faith in love and music the end won't be long" The Good Old Days
"I've tried so hard to keep myself from falling back into my bad old ways. …
