The idea to front and lead a rockband came up at one of those infamous Swedish Friday evenings (were a lot of heavy drinks are consumed and conversations are mostly not to be remembered the next day). After starting about 25 bands in theory over the years, this time it was for real. When the drinking party ended, Franky Lee was a fact! Mathias joined by ex-Peepshow's Magnus Hagerås and Fredrik Granberg, of Randy, got together and recorded an album built from the newfound frontmans arsenal of song ideas, which he had amassed over the past decade. The group - who nicked its name from a Dylan obscurity - worked efficiently to put together an unflinching dozen-song cycle.
In an era where everything is hyped to death, it's hard to believe that rock music can be faultless, but the brutal energy and hooks that embody these exceptionally sturdy songs bringing to mind The Foo Fighters, Samiam, Jimmy Eat World, not to mention the whole bands devotion to The Afghan Whigs. The roar of FRANKY LEE is as majestic as it is melodic.
