  • Bold, absolutely daring masterpiece. Weird = cool
  • v Agreed. This album stands the test of time like few others manage to do and it's arguably the most ambitious debut of all time. The concept, music and lyrics make this album so ahead of its time and it was a major influence on many musicians, not to mention Paul McCartney himself said that Sgt. Pepper's was the Beatles' "Freak Out!". So, yeah, this is a milestone in experimental music and one of my favorite albums ever, even though I think "We're Only In It For The Money" is their best.
  • OcellatedGod is completely wrong. It only sounds that way to people who "aren't in on the joke". who shouldn't be listening to zappa anyways. Not only has this album aged great, it was decades ahead of it's time and a huge influence on music in general, even up to the present.
  • rating 9/10
  • This album got me hooked on Zappa. It still sounds pretty modern for an album released in 1966.
  • Classic
  • loving those psychedelic vibes in the last songs
  • В правом нижнем углу обложки альбома Мэддисон!
  • Actually I'll take back what I said a few weeks ago. I'm listening to the original stereo mix right now and Zappa must have fiddled to death with the mixing on the Rykodisc version, much like he has on most of his albums
  • This one really hasn't aged well at all. Objectively this just sounds like a bunch of silly old novelty tunes, especially to someone who's not in on the joke.
