Melike is a very slow composer. On a good day, she can write up to two measures of music. She has stagefright and prefers that her work not be listened to in her presence, but she secretly loves her work. Influences include J.S. Bach, Boards of Canada, John Dowland, Astor Piazzolla, Claude Debussy, tuvan throat singing, Turkish music, Steve Reich, and the noises of heavy machinery.
