Biography

There are at least two bands called Fractured:
1. A post-industrial musician from Canada.
2. A post punk band from the United Kingdom.

1. Fractured, the brainchild of Nick Gorman has come a long way since it’s inception in 2003. Located in Toronto, Canada they mix very contrasting influences with precise post-production to create a sound which is unique as well as upholding the standards of the high quality that Canadian industrial is known for. Following the success of “Only Human Remains”, Fractured has returned with “Beneath the Ashes”

2. The UK post-punk band was formed in 1981 at Reading University in the UK. The original line up Jeff Hayward - vocalist/lyricist, Id Williams - guitar (later bass), Andy Hepburn - guitar, Freezer Pinch - drums, reformed in 2000 and was joined by Dave Clarke on keyboards and guitar. With influences including The Fall, The Buzzcocks, Magazine and Pixies, Fractured played guitar-based pop-punk rock with a melodic twist and witty lyrics. They released three EPs and one Album, “Pergola Status -25 years and this was all we could manage”.

"Beneath The Ashes" is a varied, catchy, experimental, melodic & well-crafted album that more than deserves repeated listening!

sounds a lot like Chester you mean? not even close in my opinion. but i have to agree, they don't sound like dark electro project to me either. but that doesn't mean they make bad music. i actually enjoy it a fucking lot!

So they stopped being a dark electro project.. Their new style is nice (Save Me is great track) but I don't like their vocals. Their vocalist sounds a lot like Linkin Park's singer. And that's not a good thing.

The new album is actually quite nice, the songs don't all sound the same and it's not your typical harsh ebm or dark electro, very nice, I REALLY like the tracks "Save Me" and "Straight Jacket Fashion". I've never heard Dubstep mixed with this kind of dark music, great, I hope this is a step in the right direction 'cause most popular Dubstep is often to rap/grime related and there's no 'good' gothic dubstep. Really enjoyable ^^ Also liked the collaboration of Encephalon :D

@Schwarze Nia: well you should also check out their earlier album "Only Human Remains". that was my first electro album ever and influenced me very much back then in 2005. Untouchable! Well I'm liking the new album, but need more time to let the songs unfold. I definitely won't make the mistake comparing this to OHR.
