Foxes! are an experimental project founded by Skullface and Holly P along with now-departed Daniel Pacrami, in a garden in Oxford in the winter of 2005.

Originally a five-piece under the name The Hola Thirties, featuring drummer Sam Robinson and guitarist Hamish Burnett, the two members parted company prompting Kayla to start learning the drums. They played their first gig in the Port Mahon venue in Oxford that December.

Their first EP followed in April 2006. Entitled “46a Appleside Drive”, named after the street where the band lived and wrote their songs together, it was recorded in one day on Cowley Road and produced by Jimmy “Evil” Hetherington in his home studio.

The packaging was designed and home-produced by Kayla with help from Adam and Daniel. It featured tags bearing the EP’s title, tracking list and additional information, and was inspired by a recent art project that Kayla was working on at art school.

The EP quickly found a receptive audience and appeared on blogs around the internet with high praise. Stand-out track “6 O’Clock” featured on a compilation from indie pop label Alcopop! in January 2007. Printed on miniature CDs with a yellow cardboard case, the compilation has now become a collector’s item.

The band returned to Hetheringon’s studio to record their second EP “Hellomynameishenry@hotmail.com” in February 2007. Featuring a more raw and experimental edge to their first, more poppy release, the EP took several sessions to complete and featured more overdubbing and additional production to “46A Appleside Drive”.

Sorry for lack of news recently, we've been busy recording but are now taking a well earned rest to enjoy the end of the summer. More news coming when we get back and work things out. …
