Foofango comprises African musicians, around Belgian sax player Pierre Vaiana. They released two albums: Foofango (1999) and Sarfalao (2002).

Like the Harmattan, Foofango, blows a torrid wind from Sahel. It takes shape in Ouagadougou, capital of Burkina Faso. There, it gets ready to travel all around the world. The name of the group means "breath of life" in the fulfulde tongue of the Fulani people. It makes reference to the spirit which flows in music and makes it alive.
