Gerry Rafferty (formerly of Stealers Wheel) released Baker Street in 1978. The original was notable for Raphael Ravenscroft's 8 bar saxophone solo which actually began a short-lived phenomenon in pop music.

The Foo Fighters performed the song on the B side of their 1995 My Hero single.

Light in your head and dead on your feet
Another crazy day, you drink the night away
And forget about everything
