Biography

Started between 2003 and 2005, Flux Utopia is a band with diverse influences and multiple backgrounds that never existed. It was to be about the collaboration of individuals pushing the edges of pop music even further, to stellar regions. It instead became just one person, right where he wanted to be, and the world whirling around him.

Chris Maples had been knob-twiddling pawnshop gear for years before playing with a sequencer. The relationship that quickly developed was a serious one. Couple that with a passion for interactive sampling, and you’ve literally got the right mix. He was also a member of The Tapegerm Collective for a short time and has recorded, performed, and worked with a variety of other electronic musicians.
