About Flash Jack Eppington

"Flash" Jack Eppington has been anything but flashy for most of his musical career. He has been playing guitar and writing songs since childhood, but only a few years ago decided to play them in public. It's a case of a quiet hobby being slowly transformed into something more.

Originally, after a brief teen-band phase, Jack dropped the idea of performance. But he kept on writing, although his music never got farther than home demos.

Around 2005, encouraged by his friends to share his music with the public, Jack started out on the open-mike circuit around Washington, D.C., where he was living at the time.

Eppington kept developing his craft, playing in his hometown of New York City, as well as New Jersey, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa. His new album, "Penny Up" was recorded in his studio in Rochester, Minnesota in early 2011. However, a change of day job and a desire to be part of the Boston music scene recently brought him to eastern Masschusetts, where he now lives and performs.

Today, with a wealth of originals and covers ready to play, Jack is having fun entertaining. While he knows he is arriving "like a flash" and is still unknown to most music fans, that's okay for now. To quote an old tune, Jack feels you stand in the place where you are, and start from there. And so, flashy or not, here he comes, offering what he has to share.
