And the sign said, "Long-haired freaky people need not apply"
So I tucked my hair up under my hat and I went in to ask him why
He said, "You look like a fine upstanding young man, I think you'll do"
So I took off my hat, I said, "Imagine that, huh, me workin' for you"

Hello, I had just come back from a short vacation in southeast asia when this song hit the charts. The oldies are still goodies.Sometimes the oldies can give alot of insight into what's happening now.

Here's your sign ! Turn it all the way up and tear off the knob. Don't worry, your neighbors love the song too.

One of the true great instrumental intros into the song. This song is phenominal. I kareoke'd this one once on New Orleans' Bourban Street (I don't often Kareoke). The crowd went crazy with it. Seems they probably only ever heard the 90's cheesy remake by Tesla.

Tesla had a good version of this song.. In an acoustic set on the tube.... Like all versions.. A good written song will do that !!!!

Its sad to say nothing has changed since this song was released in the 70's.This song still stands the test of time.
