Firetop Mountain is a guitar driven quartet featuring brothers Michael Sollien and Kim Sollien, Ola Helland-Pedersen, Michael Enger and Vegard Magnhildson. The music can be classified as indie rock heavily rooted in pop melodies. Some of their inspiration comes from bands like The Posies, Death Cab for Cutie and Radiohead. Formed in Oslo, Norway in the fall of 2006 they quickly started playing live and developed a small following in the country's capital. In early 2008 they started recording their debut album with producer Ørnulv Snortheim (Haddy N'Jie, Erik Faber, Breyma Tei). The 8th of June 2009 they released the record on their own label and Indie Distribution. The title: "Indians aren't afraid of heights" is based on a well known american urban legend. In 2013 the band will release more material. First up is the EP: All The Best Ideas, produced by the band, and mixed by Andreas Reiten Westhagen (Eye Emma Jedi, Carnival Kids).
