The band has a loyal fan base and has supported Nelly Furtado, Queen, George Michael, The Corrs and others.
In 2010 the band went on a search for a new vocalist and out of hundreds of candidates Joana Gomes was chosen giving the band a new voice and direction.
“Simple Words” was the first recording by The Fingertips with Joana Gomes & continues to enjoy airplay in multiple countries. Co-written by songwriters/producers Rui Saraiva & Helder Matos with Virgilio Fino the new lyricist born in London but with Portuguese roots.
On the 30th May the Fingertips took to the stage at Rock in Rio in Lisbon marking the start of a new era for the band. Joined by special guests - Alexandre Almeida on guitar who collaborated in the studio with the band in 2003 & Brazilian musician/vocalist Zé Ricardo performing a duet with Joana on “Simple Words”.
In March 2011 after months in the studio the album ‘Venice‘ is launched & distributed worldwide via iTunes & Amazon with “Dreaming Of The Moon” as the new single.

A palavra que tenho para os definir é: pena. É uma pena não serem reconhecidos lá fora. É uma pena não serem reconhecidos cá dentro. É uma pena termos perdido o vocalista e agora ser uma tal de Joana Gomes, não tem má voz mas é uma mudança muito brusca. Uma banda que muda de vocalista deixa de ser essa banda e passa a ser outra, por muito que se tente manter os fãs e o estilo, acaba sempre por alguma coisa mudar. É pena a banda estar a desmembranar-se. É uma pena que durante os últimos 6 meses apenas tiveram 207 scrobles com a Picture Of My Own. É uma pena que o melhor da música portuguesa, aqueles que realmente nos fazem sentir orgulhosos, tenham este tipo de tratamento. Enfim, é uma pena...
