I wish I could hear the lyrics but the music alone makes me smile.

The version I'm hearing has no piano. Guessing it's not Fats' version.

Music by Fats Waller - lyrics by Andy Razaf written for the Cabaret show "Load Of Coal" it is said that is had been written in only a few minutes - Charlie Parker used the progression (changes) for many of his original tunes like Bird's Nest, Scrapple From The Apple and so on.

It says Fats Waller's Honeysuckle rose, but the version that's playing is a Coleman Hawkins, Benny Carter, Django Rhinehart session from Paris in 1937.??? It's really good by the way.

Try the Teddy Wilson version of this as a very decent contrast. Fats is, as usual, superb.
