"They've always been interesting." imo NOB is almost crap besides 2-3 tracks, the next two are better but not much.

This is the Progressive metal album, IMO this is the first pure prog metal album. The thrash and power metal influences are gone, you can see bands like DT took notes as well.

What to say, a great progressive album. I agree that the emotional parts really begins to develop here, and becomes really great on APSOG

No Exit was also Progressive, and imo a better album.

I agree moontower, the lyrics took a massive step forward deep into emotional territory, the beginning of the progressive Fates Warning

"1st interesting album by them" not really. They've always been interesting.

I actually was really thrown off by this at first. I had followed them since Spectre, and was a big metal geek. Through Different Eyes *seemed* like a sellout track at first, but repeated listens revealed something much deeper was going on. Brilliantly underrated album, and my 3rd all time favorite FW album (behind DC and APSOG)
