Farout Fishing was a // band formed in Målselv, Norway in 1990 by Per Idar Pedersen (“PO”, guitar), Chris Reddy (drums), Henrik Sandnes (bass) and Kjell Erik Bersvendsen (vocals). They released their debut album in 1991, before “PO” left and was replaced by Kent Remi Gabrielsen (“Sprocket”). Later, in 1998, Bersvendsen left and was replaced by Sindre Mehl (“Sindri”).

The band put pride in beeing idealistic and with a strong attitude, and was early known for serving home-made fish soup in their concerts (in protest against mass production and overconsume of unhealthy food). They also contributed to a compilation record called “Totalnekterplata”, a record made in support of those who struggled to avoid the Norwegian common duty. Additionally they have also toured the so-called “blitz-route” in Middle Europe.

The bandmembers went separate ways in 2003.
