There are several artists associated with the name Fantasia:
(1) Fantasia Monique Barrino, or simply Fantasia (born June 30, 1984 in High Point, North Carolina), an African-American rhythm and blues singer, who came to fame as the winner of the third season of the television series American Idol;
(2) A French symphonic power metal band, created by Willdric Lievin, who have since changed their name to Fairyland; and
(3) Finnish progressive rock band Fantasia, formed in 1973, who released their only album Rocks in 1988
(4) Czech rock group formed in Český Těšín (Stanislavice) which play fusion of hard and glam rock.

In addition to her music career, Fantasia has also ventured into other pursuits such as publishing, acting, and Broadway. In her memoir “Life is Not a Fairy Tale”, she reveals intimate details about herself, including her functional illiteracy. The book was later adapted into a Lifetime movie of the same name in 2006. Directed by famed actress and choreographer Debbie Allen, it received 19 million viewers, making it Lifetime’s second-most viewed program of all time.

She'll probably release the album to coincide with her new VH1 show at the top of next year. Her last album was the bizness, she fused soul, r&b, hip hop and funk so effortlessly. It was not only one of the greatest albums of 2006, but of this decade and R&B period.
