Now based in Las Vegas as of September 2011, avant-garde electro disco group Fans of Jimmy Century originated in the San Francisco Bay Area in 2007. After writing their newest song “Mr. Las Vegas,” they felt a strong urge to grow permanent roots in Vegas. The song captures the eternal excitement and temptation of Las Vegas with a vintage Bond flair and seductive film noir style, all the while paying tribute to Mr. Las Vegas himself, Wayne Newton, and all of Las Vegas’ legendary entertainers and iconic figures. What was originally supposed to be a music video for the song has now expanded into a full length movie directed by Billy Clift in which FOJC performs the title track & are featured actors in the film alongside additional popular Las Vegas performers and celebrities. The film has a tentative production schedule which begins in March 2013.

FOJC got off to a fast start with the success of their first 2008 single, “Hot Sahara,” which climbed the dance and radio charts, reaching #23 on FMQB. Both “Hot Sahara” and its accompanying album, “Twist of the Banshees,” were on the initial ballot in the Electronic Dance category for the Grammy Awards in the same year.

    to valiumCrush, yeah they o definitely cross over all genres, but you're right. The similar artists that Last.fm connects them with don't sound like them. I'm a huge L Word fan and used to buy the imixes at Itunes of the episodes. The artists that show up on their page as similar are the artists that were in the same L Word episode with them. That's probably why all of those artists as a group don't sound similar in style. They were just in the same L Word episode. That's a Last.fm glitch in terms of music discovery of similar artists in my opinion.

    Ya know what I don't get? I don't get why Last.fm lumps you in with indie alternative artists when you're so sexy electronic dance pop. Does it have to do with being on the L Word and being in that artist group? Because the bands you're most similar to never come up on your Fans of Jimmy Century radio station.
