Family, much like their contrymen The Move, was a very versatile band. Capable of ballads, such as My Friend The Sun, they could follow a full rocker, such as Broken Nose, with odd barroon ditties, such as Sat'd'y Barfly. They made some very fine albums, despite what some may refer to as 'filler". Nonetheless, a very entertaining band and I l always enjoy putting on one of their records now and then just to sit back and listen.

I love it when a raucous, ebullient band like Family or Streetwalkers can pull off something as lovely as this. Desert Island disc!

Er, I've got this on vinyl along with "It's only a movie"! Also have single "In my own time" which is amazing and you just can't classify. When I first heard Roger Chapman's voice, I didn't even like it. - But once you become accustomed to that strange vibrato - it's compelling.

Sometimes found Family's output slightly patchy but when they were good they were great. I totally love everything about this song, many good memories go with it (Hi V!) and there's something very beautiful about John Wetton's background/counterpoint vocal towards the end

Nice little ditty but turning up in the rotation once about every 20 songs so time to ban it.
