Zwolle, Netherlands (2009 – present)

The brigadiers, Sticks, James, Phreaco Rico and Typhoon are taking it to the next level in the Zwollisch saga, to the beats produced by A.R.T.. The name Fakkelbrigade (Dutch for ‘Torch Brigade’) was already heard a lot in tracks from Opgezwolle, the Dutch formation from Zwolle, NL which most of the Fakkelbrigadiers were part of. With the release of their debut album Colucci Era in 2009, Fakkelbrigade was officially born.

Chef cook A.R.T. serves his unique sound, which you already could hear some of on Tussen Licht En Lucht (Zendeghi and Wind Waait) and Fakkelteit (Spaanse Vlieg). The rappers heard the sounds that came out of his kitchen and decided to stay for dinner every night. A fruitful cooperation, from the men that, apart from their solo careers and other projects, released their creations on the Benelux as a group, from now on.

James, who proved himself worthy several times already (Vroeger/Nu and Utopia) lets hear from himself more now, and is the perfect ‘unknown companion’ in the group. He now has a bigger share in the tracks. Other than that, the Brigadiers are widely-spread in the Dutch ‘Nederhop’ scene, so you’ll often hear guest-artists too.
