  • Why Faithless are the best British dance act, and one of the most exciting bands to…

Faithless at Brixton Academy Tuesday 11th September 2007
So, I went to see Faithless again on tuesday at Brixton Academy. I was pretty stoked because this is an absolutely tiny venue to be seeing them in, considering their last tour was an arena tour and when I saw them the first time at Global Gathering there were at least 60,000 people in the crowd. This time I was about 20 feet from the band and I was pretty near the back. A word on the crowd at this concert by the way; they were crap. I'm pretty sure I was the only person who knew To All New Arrivals and the girls in front of me talked all the way through the best songs off that album (Bombs,Hope & Glory). But I will put that down to not being far enough forward with the real fans. Unfortunately I made it in late (just after the start of Sweep) and couldn't get further than halfay in.

Anyway, onto the gig itself. You know that the show you are about to see is going to be absolutely amazing as soon as Sweep kicks in and a bass…
  • FAITHLESS in Kiev, 2007

Sun 3 Jun – GreenFest Tuborg

Sweep, Insomnia, God Is a Dj, Bring My Family Back, Mass Destruction, Everything Will Be Alright Tomorrow?, What About Love?, Drifting Away, I Want More, part 2, We Come 1 + bonus: Muhammad Ali и Salva Mea…

To me, if there’s one thing that highlights how difficult it is to imagine being someone else its music. As much as it is possible to find those that have very similar tastes in a very general sense, taste in music is such an individually unique thing. Although, it is just universally accepted that one man’s meat is another’s poison, when it comes to music I’d just love to know why that actually is. Is it just what you grow up with? Is it because of biology or chemical brain composition? Or are we just a bunch of incessant bandwagon jumpers who just always stick to their guns, buying into an image that a certain type of music is meant to create? Nature, nurture or society? I think most would concede it’s probably a mixture of all three. It just baffles me how one person can get so excited over something that someone else finds genuinely annoying, to the point where it gives them a headache. In a similar sort of way, what I write here…
