Biography

Virginia, United States (1999 – 2003)

Fairweather was an American rock band formed in 1999 in Virginia that released two full-length albums on Equal Vision Records: If They Move…Kill Them (2001) and Lusitania (2003). The band also released several demos and the Alaska EP.

Fairweather began playing shows in the Washington, DC and various suburbs of Fairfax, Virginia. After much critical acclaim of their first album, If They Move… Kill Them, the band booked dates with Thursday, Brand New, Saves The Day, The Movielife, Piebald, Onelinedrawing, Codeseven, and other nationally known touring acts. The band announced that they would be disbanding in late 2003, not too long after their second full-length album, and finally disbanded in the winter of 2003. They played their final show at St. Andrews Church in College Park, Maryland, with Darkest Hour, Age of Ruin, StarsHideFire, and Good Clean Fun.

finding bootlegs would be hard i imagine. back then smartphones didn't exist! so no amateur footage unless someone actually had a video camera.

one of my favorite bands ever. If they move Kill Them... ahh the memories. this band was the one band that practically everyone we knew in college @VTech back in the day loved and could sing along to any of their songs on a whim (ok maybe saves the day too, when they were actually cool). and im not just talkin about the dozens of punker kids, but even the kids who listened exclusively to country or nu-metal, or hip hop or whatever, but somehow everyone knew and loved fairweather. the fairweather/the stryder/over it show at solar haus back in 01 was fucking mind-blowing and i'm glad i had the fortune of witnessing such a rare gathering of awesomeness. the setup was probably the most intimate of any show i've ever been to, like shoulder-to-the-wheel-basement-party style where you're practically standing with the band and collectively singing along into the mic. how often do you get the opportunity to do that with such an incredible lineup?

Really solid stuff. Got some Saves The Day vibes from them. Probably why they're in the similar artists.

I'm not usually big on this sort of thing, but If They Move... Kill Them is a pretty solid record.
