About this album

Magnified is the second studio album by the American rock band Failure. Magnified differs greatly from Failure’s debut album Comfort by using a great deal of bass guitar distortion. In fact this is their only album, and one of only few rock albums in general, where most songs are defined by the bassline instead of the guitar work making it rather unique. Their use of a bassline as the main structure to the song as well as distortion can be heard best on “Frogs” and “Wonderful Life”. Harmonics are also used extensively and can be heard quite prominently on the songs “Moth”, “Wonderful Life” and “Empty Friend”. All music composed by Andrews/Edwards, except where noted. Recorded by Paul Lani. Mixed by David Bianco and Ken Andrews. Frog: Bruce Schwartz

I love it. Not a single weak track on it indeed... I need them to come over to Europe...

it's great. really solid from start to finish, without a single dud. but i still think FP wins it over by a small margin. Bernie might be the best Failure song of all behind Smoking Umbrellas.

A truly horrendous album cover. One of the worst. Doesn't really matter of course since the album itself is brilliant, and signaled the band finding their distinct sound through taking the production reigns themselves. It doesn't have the conceptual vibe I love from FP, but as a collection of simply superb songs, like Frogs, Bernie, Wonderful Life, and Crimes, it's not hard to see why some people prefer it over FP.

10/10 album. I love it. One thing though, I can't say it's better than FP. I actually liked this one more at first, and thought FP sucked, but FP is truly a masterpiece of music. This is a fucking awesome rock album though, better most other music out there.

This HAS to be the ugliest album cover right after Beck's Mellow Gold.

There's a lot of filler on FP. I always liked this album more.

ya know, everyone always raves about fantastic planet being their best album, but for me this album plays through the best. There is not one bad track on this album.
