About this album

Fade To Black are an indie rock band based in Lansing, MI. They formed in 1990. Original members included Mike Anderson on vocals, Eldon McGraw on lead guitar, Randy Matthews on rhythm guitar, Jeff Behrendt on bass guitar, and Tommy Gomez on drums.

Fade To Black released their debut indie album, “Land of Plenty” in October, 1990. The album featured twelve songs. Many of the songs on this album were played on college radio. The album was recorded from May-August 1991.

In September, 1900, Tommy Gomez left the band and Mort Thomas joined the band on drums. In November, 1990, Mort left the band. In December of 1990, Jeff Behrendt left the band and Scott Helmke joined the band on bass. In January 1991, Randy Matthews left the band. In February 1991, Eric Stuart joined the band on drums. In May 1991, Scott Helmke left the band and Chris Flock joined the band on bass.

From November 1990 through June 1991, Fade To Black recorded their second album, “Is This the End?” The album was released in August 1991. The band originally broke up in August 1991.

Fade To Black reformed in April 2009 with all five original members returning. The band immediately started working on new material for another album. In December 2009, the band signed with Good Time Gang Records. Their third album, “Black Is Back” was released in June 2010. Seven songs on the album have been played on college and internet radio in the U.S., U.K., Canada, Italy, and Germany. Tommy Gomez left the band in March 2010 and Casey Chahine joined the band on drums.
