A killer single for the first wave of post punk monochrome electro - disassociative soul for the dressed up set. The track sits alongside other anthems of alienation such as the Human League cover of “You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling”, “Girl With The Patent Leather Face” by Soft Cell and early “The Normal”. It was among the great tracks of the last truly New Wave - no-one had done electro like this before, and electro was still new… and of course since then everything has a retro ring to it, or has been marketed as fresh when its actually frozen. This was the soundtrack to looks and lives you made yourself because it wasn’t available at Top Shop.

Of course it still sounds good today, because it so accurately sounds like the feel of the culture of today.
