Exit Stranger is a South African band that started out when Andre(Guitar,ex Silex) and James(Vocals,ex Not My Dog) began to jam on acoustic guitars back in 2004 after getting to know each other through dating sisters. With both of them having a firm background in rock music, James’ vocals and lyrics just seemed to compliment Andre’s songwriting perfectly. The band only really started to gain momentum in 2008, after Andre recruited his younger brother, Werner, to take up the bass and join the band. Later Henk, who was an school buddy of James joined the band as drummer, after quiting Chokinghazard! for whom he also did drumming duties.

Exit Stranger’s sound is an interesting mix of rock, alternative and metal. Each song is melodic with vocals resembling Alice In Chains or Soundgarden, while the music keeps on drawing you in with beautiful verses and driving choruses like Muse, Staind or HIM. The lyrics speak of the state of society, relationships and the effect it has when these things aren’t taken care of.

The band has just finished recording their debut album “Liminal Space” is just finished and already available on iTunes and . Gigs Exit Stranger has done includes Zeplins and Rock Shack Centurion Birthday Festival, Schivas Rock, Cafe Barcelona and Camel Fest, Black Dahlia and Boston Rock lounge to name a few. Exit Stranger has played with the likes of STRAW, Mrs B, Fourteen40 and La Cobra.

The songs Dog Damn Tired and Temptation received over 3000 plays each, in just over two weeks on International Independent Music Website, IACMUSIC.
