"Slaughter in the Vatican is more like Slayer worship than anything really" wow what? have you ever listened to Slayer? These riffs sound *nothing* like Slayer. We're much closer to something like Metallica with a bit more grit.
All it does is make Exhorder seem worse than they actually are. I didn't bother listening to them for so long because I was expecting to hear more Pantera-like grooves, when they're really just thrash with the occasional heavier slowed down riff (at least on Slaughter in the Vatican). The only real similarity is in the vocals.
You all are so fuckin retarded I have no words to describe it. After finishing your Exhorder-Pantera war start a new one like Lamb of god vs Slayer or Exodus vs Megadeth. Your small brains can't imagine, that people can listen to whatever they like ? And to be honest Pantera is much better, but I have no reason to talk about it all the time in the shoutbox. I just listen to fucking music, can anybody understand that ?
Criminally underrated. V Pantera drew heavy influences from exhorder around the '90 Cowboys From Hell Album. Phil Anselmo heard the Slaughter In The Vatican demos before they started writing Cowboys and he presented them to the band. This is how it was, though Pantera simplified exhorder's style and slowed things down on huge part of CFH. Yes, Pantera existed before Exhorder but at first they played in the style of 'Turbo' era Judas Priest at best. The change in sound came later.
