In May 2009 Eva Simons’s electro-pop track “Silly Boy” was leaked onto YouTube. Since then the song has attracted a large online fan community and became one of the most listened tracks online, generating over ten million clicks.

Billy Mann, President of New Music International and President of Global Artist Management, EMI Music, said: “Eva has taken the internet by storm and she already has a huge fan base that’s just waiting for more. ‘Silly Boy’ captures her fabulous energy and strength of personality.”

“Silly Boy” was originally thought to be a demo for pop star Rihanna and to feature songstress Lady Gaga, after it was posted on singer Kanye West’s blog. It was later announced on Simons’ official YouTube page that the song was her own. These rumours were later confirmed as Eva held an interview stating that she did not write the song. The song was never intended for any artist; just a youtube upload which was later picked by Eva Simons.

The music video premiered on July 30, 2009 both on Simons website and YouTube. The director of the video is Daniel Warwick.
