Brighton, United Kingdom (2003 – present)

Esiotrot, formed in late 2003/early 2004, is a seven-piece band from Brighton, UK. They have officially released one LP (Schmesiotrot) and two EPs (Esio Trot, Esiotrotsky). Although the band’s line-up is always expanding, their sound is increasingly intimate, erudite and charming. They have drawn comparisons to Pavement, The Velvet Underground, Hefner, and numerous other staples of . Esiotrot has performed with Jens Lekman, Danielson, Los Campesinos!, Pants Yell! and I’m from Barcelona (among others).

As of December 2008 the band’s line-up is as follows: Duncan Barrett (guitar/vocals), Cat Loye (drums), Matthew Rains (guitar/vocals), Adey Fleet (bass), Thomas Stimson (keyboards/glockenspiel/percussion), John Edom (trombone) and Thomas Punton (trumpet).
