Eric Burdon Declares “War” was the debut album for eclectic funk band Eric Burdon & War, which was released in 1970. It reached #18 on the US, #50 on the UK and #7 on the Australia album chart. On the back cover they printed “We the people have declared war against the people for the right to love each other”. The album received gold. Shortly after it was followed by The Black-Man’s Burdon. All albums by Eric Burdon & War were often re-issued, the last time on 21 April 2008.
