where the first album sounds like the melancholy throes of a post-breakup, feeling all wistful and sad and romantic and whatever, this album sounds like the members of the band then decided that psychoactive drugs were the best way to cope with the pain and misery and anger and disdain for the world. a good follow-up, basically.
Ufonaut completely blew me away on the first listen. Never heard of the band before, but these guys are so powerful and dynamic in their sludgy blackmetal with post-metal influences. Absolutely love it!
Something really bugs me on Entropia's Vesper. Sometimes it's the keyboards, which tend to be overused for my taste, in longer tracks such as Pascal it's the overall lack of captivating sounds - it feels like it drags just for the hell of it. Album gets interesting once again on Track 5, Tesla, where Entropia returns to utilize their original approach to black metal in a non-boring way. People recommend it as a great post-black or blackgaze album, but overall it feels like a "melodic black metal" album, with somewhat gothic atmosphere. I've been recommended with Entropia as a similar band to Altar of Plagues, but that's a horrible comparison. Fav tracks: Dante, Gauss. 6/10
