Call me crazy, call me mad, call me insane, I won't care.
What am I talking about? Listening to only one song for extended periods of time.
Sure, not every song is suitable. I can't imagine I would be listening to the Soviet National Anthem for three hours. But, at least for me, there are certain songs that I could listen to over and over again.
There aren't many of them, only four at the moment - Chi mai
, Dune Buggy
, Comfortably Numb
and Suicide Is Painless
Sometimes, I just turn on "repeat: track" and forget about it for an hour or so. The song is not annoying, it just is there, creating an ambient sound. I don't really listen to it, it just plays.
Sometimes, I use this to create an atmosphere. When I need to concentrate on something, it can be quite distracting when songs change from metal to pop or from rock to classical. One song can help me concentrate for on one thing for some time. As the song doesn't change, neither I do change my focus.
