EVC (Ending The Vicious Cycle) is a post-punk/darkwave band formed in 2009. Based in Fort Worth, Texas, EVC consists of Toby Rider (lead vocals, guitars, keyboards), Joshua Lytle (bass) and Chris Issacs on drums.
EVC’s sound is characterized by a mix of flanged bass, melodic guitar lines and classic 80s synth sounds.
They have been compared to Bauhaus, Peter Murphy, Joy Division, The Cure and The Psychedelic Furs due to the tone of Toby’s voice and the thoughtful and introspective nature of the lyrics, and the layering of musical elements.
