Nightshade is way more atmospheric to me but this is more bombastic intense and still manages to maintain atmosphere in a different way

probably the best of black metal, and the best of Emperor for sure! mixing and mastering can be done better, though, but it's not really bad in comparison to most other recordings

this kicks ITNE's ass, easily Emperor's best album

This is not worse than ITNE for songwriting, With Strength I Burn, Thus Spake the Nightspirit and Ye Entranceemperium are solid gold, easily up there with The Burning Shadows of Silence and Cosmic Keys to My Creations & Times.

Like a lot of other people said: aesthetically better than ITNE, but worse in terms of heart/songwriting.

my personal favorite from Emperor... the songs are just so timeless and shit on nearly anything symphonic BM has put out in all the years until now.

This is my least favorite Emperor album and it sucks ass compared to In the Nightside Eclipse.

NOT a better production than Eclipse. That's for sure.

I love Nightside, but I'm really liking the keyboard/guitar balance here more than on Nightside. The keys are more subtle and enjoyable. The better production is definitely a big plus.

Much better production than Nightside but I think I still prefer Nightside nonetheless.

One of the weirdest drum sounds on this album.[2] Indeed... but still a great album!

Not bad, but very chaotic, sometimes I can't find the rythm and everything becomes a ball of noise. The voice is to low. In The Nightside Eclipse is way better.
