Empürios was formed in 2004, by Renata Decnop and her cousin Igor Decnop, both guitarists. In a few days Fernanda Decnop, Renata's sister, was included in the band when Renata discovered her talent to vocals. A friend of them, João Lima, was invited do join the band assuming the bass.
The ideas for the band started to grow and Juliana Decnop, also a cousin, joined the band playing the violins. A friend pointed Marcos Ceia for keyboards and he joined the band at 10th March, 2004, date when the band was officially born, in that days named Zenith. The band rehearsed a lot even without a drummer, so when Mateus Raposo joined the band, they were nearly ready for shows.
With this line up the band made many shows arround Rio de Janeiro, but unfortunely Mateus and João left the band for personal reasons. During the search for new drummer and bassist, Igor decided to assume the bass, so all the guitars passed to be commanded by Renata.
With a new name, Sinaesthesia, the band found a new drummer, Erick Rhamnusia, who joined the band but didn't last many rehersals and quickly left the band. The new drummer was Victor Suehtt. With that line up the band, already named Empürios, they made some shows and developed the songs for the demo-CD "Drowned Earth". Unfortunely Juliana and Victor left the band before starting the recording of the album.
Even without a drummer they recorded and released the album. Eduardo Belchior joined the band but he didn't last many months and left the band. After those stormy days Mateus Raposo returned to Empürios' drums and the band is on tour again.
