Emma K Spence Singer - Songwriter,Pianist - main genres Blues,Folk,Soul. Born and raised in England to Jamaican parents. Emma would use her classical piano training to spend countless hours at the piano writing songs and singing.
After Graduating from Brunel University. Emma’s UK music experiences, led her to recognition in the USA and to showcase for the late legendary producer Arif Mardin (1932 – 2006, producing Aretha Franklin, Average White Band, Norah Jones and Phil Collins to name but a few), and Bruce Lundvall of Blue Note Records, amongst other industry heavyweights.
This versatile Artist is also skilled at arranging music and songs on Logic audio creating another music product called ‘Sounds of Substance’ on www.myspace.com/soundsofsubstancesos which is a mix of, Electronica,Dance,Dub,Film sound track music and experimental rhythms.
Emma’s musical style and songwriting is influenced by the music which has been the back ground to her life. Such as the many house parties her parents would have and listening to her parent’s record collection of Bob Marley, Reggae, Soca music, Calypso, Caribbean Folk songs and 70s Folk, Tina Turner, Aretha Franklyn and all those other wonderful sounds of American 50’s and 60’s R&B.
