  • 2015. Still relevant.
  • Sing for the moment though is the culmination of all of these themes. Where fan culture grows from (That's why we sing for these kids, who don't have a thing... We're nothing to you but we the fucking shit in they eyes) Why its wrong to attack musicians for expressing themselves (They say music can alter moods and talk to you... just tell the judge it was my fault and I'll get sued) Eminem's personal struggle with what to say and what not to (how the fuck did this metamorphosis happen) And of course, the first verse where Eminem explains where his lyrics stem from. TL;DR, this song is fucking perfect.
  • Yet another pinnacle. This theme started from Role Model on the SSLP when Eminem exploited parents' fears about fans trying to emulate his alter ego. It became a lot more pronounced and centric to him in Stan and Who Knew on the MMLP when it was no longer the effect of violence and rap music but Eminem's lyrics in particular whose effect he spoke of. It was in fact, acknowledged on the first track of the MMLP (""Oh, now he's raping his own mother, abusing a whore, snorting coke, and we gave him the Rolling Stone cover?" You god damn right bitch, and now it's too late I'm triple platinum and tragedies happen in two states"). Super fan culture was addressed again in The Real Slim Shady, and then of course, there's Criminal where he mocks critics of his lyrics once more. The Eminem Show opens with White America, where Eminem explores how his skin colour puts him in an intense spotlight.
