About this album
Growing up in Moldova, Emil became acquainted with the local music culture, which contains Russian, Rumanian, Bulgarian, Serbian, Macedonian, Turkish and naturally the Gypsy style of music.
During his studies, Emil got tutored by very talented Classic style musicians, which developed his arrangement abilities, and got him acknowledged with the Classic style of music, Stern’s piece “Chopin” is an example of this.
During Emil’s Journey to France, he got to listen to some local musicians play the Folk French music, especially the “Valse-Musette” caught his attention, of which he gives two examples in this album.
Later on Emil got acknowledged to the South American style of music, especially Piazzolla’s music. Piazzolla’s style of music known by its raging character, fascinated Emil, and he had to give it his own touch. Piazzolla’s Tango is originally played on the Bandoneón; again Emil gave to it his own interpretation and adopt it to the Accordion.
In this album Emil is accompanied by a few talented musicians, some of them are his associates, some are his students from the Music Academy in Jerusalem, and some are his friends all the way back from Moldova, for all Emil wrote the arrangements to all of the pieces in this album.
