Trilogy (8:54)

I can’t believe there is no description of this song and yet 48,000 plays? This is the very best of ELP. Does the trilogy describe the three members of the group? Emerson, Lake, and Palmer? This is what I always thought… Or it has something to do with cats! Cats win.

Ok. I will try starting from somebrady’s first try.

Trilogy is probably my fav ELP album. They are looser and more relaxed on this album more so than any other, while still delivering top notch songs. This album is more a collection of songs about whatever than any specific concept album. Trilogy, the song, with all of these listens here, is broken down into three parts, hence the name. It has a beautiful fugue section, probably Emerson’s most delicate piano work.
