25 Jan 2007, 00:20 by astrolabe1976The Cure And The Cause One of the most hypnotic vocal house tracks I've heard in years. A bit like Ericka Badu discovering deep house. Mysterious, swirling, captivating. Amazing.
Sugar(Paper Faces Mix) Ah, Stuart Price, the hardest working man in Dance music. He remixed everyone and their mother, on top of being Madonna's musical director for her Confessions Tour. He takes Armand's pedestrian dance-rock anthem to a sexy electronic romp that has a great synth hook.
SorryWow, Stuart Price again. I must say Stu's mix style can be quite obvious, with you often thinking he's just trying to re-arrange yet another New Order song that you've never heard before. His reinterpretation of his own production with Madonna is a great synthy dance number, cranking up the vocoder in the mix higher than it was on the album.
Talk (Jacques Lu Cont Mix)This is the last Stuart Price production. I promise. This is by far the most stunning/radical reconstruction of the list, yet its highly reverent to the original. …
27 Jun 2006, 14:36 by moonstarsunI found it in zachriel's journal, and I stole it.
This is how it works:
1. Put your MP3 player or whatever on random.
2. Post the first line(s) from the first 30 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing the song.
3. Let everyone you know guess what song and artist the lines come from.
4. Bold out the songs when someone guesses correctly.
5. Looking them up on Google or any other search engine is cheating.
1. I never thought of this as funny
It speaks another world to me
I wanna be your Easter bunny
I wanna be your Christmas tree
2.Wind me up
put me down
start me off and watch me go
I'll be running circles around you sooner than you know
How you can speak
Right to my heart
Without saying a word,
You can light up the dark
When You Say Nothing at All
4.in times like these
in times like those
what will be will be
and so it goes
Times Like These
5.Theres no way
Im coming back to you
Ive just got to say

8 Apr 2006, 16:15 by MityaCharts are great and all, but sometimes the numbers don't convey how you're really feeling about the music. Not much to do on a rainy Saturday afternoon, so I thought I'd tip my hat to a few things I've been listening to lately:
Nature's Law was tipped as another one of those "plodding indie guitar band somehow comes up with brilliant pop song" (see Dakota from last year). The first time I listened to it, I heard nothing, just the standard-issue Coldplay emoting. But the second time... The second time was like the ground had opened up and I just fell and fell and fell.
Scruffy the Cat is an old sentimental favorite of mine. I think I discovered them while I was still in high school, while I was rooting around in the library of the radio station. But their first album, Tiny Days, was all I ever listened to. Somehow I ran across their Boom Boom Boom Bingo EP earlier this week and lo! and behold, it's great, especially Blue Russian.
