One-Sided Love Affair (2:11)

From Elvis Presley and 136 other releases

“One Sided Love Affair” is an often overlooked song from Elvis’s first RCA album titled Elvis Presley, but he always named this song as his favorite from that first session. Shorty Long plays piano, D.J. Fontana plays drums, Bill Black plays bass, Scotty Moore plays electric guitar, and Elvis plays rhythm guitar. The song was recorded in New York’s RCA Studio #2. Written by Bill Campbell, the song wound up as a “B” side to “Money Honey.” Elvis’s vocal on this tune gives an authentic glimpse of Elvis’s unique phrasing, interpretation, and the raw message that Sam Phillips first saw in him.
