Why so cynical? Maybe look at it this way: every record has to be evaluated on its own. If you like/dislike an album, a next or previous one shouldn't be able to change your opinion about it. Or maybe another way: you obviously liked the older records, and the fact you don't like the newer ones drives you to post a cynical comment here. But ask yourself, would you do the same if their older records weren't any good to you and suddenly they release a record you really like? Would you post a comment here saying they're still a shitty band? Because that is what you're doing now
Well, where exactly did I mention that Eluveitie are a shitty band? Right, nowhere. So, what should I ask myself again? Your example is impractible anyways because my point was that this band devolved into a picture of misery since their classic debut (and "Slania", to be fair) while other bands evolve after their debut, which, in my view, is a natural process and not to be compared with the first case at all.
My top seven European bands have had seven ugly split-ups I'm aware of (counting three within Nightwish, including Sami). Hmm, I have 54 plays of AnDro but I've only listened to the whole album Spirit once ever? Guess I'm a curse, hehe
I used to dig their Gothenburg melodeath style songs from Spirit and Slania..........but I think now they suck. Sounds like folk pop metal. And the production sounds like it was recorded inside a one litre water bottle
"What do you do in life ?" "I play in a death metal band " "Oh really ? What instrument do you play ?" "The flute and bagpipes"
Rode that was good one :D But seriously, i really like this band!
