Tumbleweed is fantastic! BTW, the cover of his latest release is horrendous.

I like every album he's ever done, but Tumbleweed is at the bottom for me too. It has hardly any standout track and the album feels kind of boring. It's hard to believe it's tucked in between such great albums as the two first and the few that followed it.

@Internetauta - did you really say that tumbleweed connection was one of his worst albums & the fox was one of his best??????????????????? you fucking lunatic

"Tumbleweed Connection" seems to be one of his worst albums for me, along with "Caribou" and "Ice On Fire" - though they're all good, pleasant and valuable BECAUSE it's Elton and he's always a genius. "TC" is like it had only three standouts: breathtaking "My Father's Gun", great "Burn Down The Mission" and good "Talking Old Soldiers". The rest was pretty reductive, some poor and obscure saloon-country deprived of any creativity. I wonder what has happened then with the great Elton from "Elton John" and "Madman Across The Water"?! And the greatest albums for me are: "Elton John", "Madman Across The Water", "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road", "Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy", "Blue Moves", "A Single Man", "The Fox", "Breaking Hearts", "The Big Picture", "Songs From The West Coast", "Peachtree Road", "Captain and the Kid" and "The Diving Board".
