If ever there was a gig that I felt that I'd come away from, having gotten my money's worth this was it!
Yeah, I know that those of us that frequent many gigs, often come away from an evenings' entertainment feeling similar thoughts, but this one deserved it on three levels...
1.Ticket price - a mere £10!
2.Two support acts!
3.ALL 3 acts did an excellent job!!
I have to be honest, & hold my hands up & admit, despite them being local, & us living in the same town, I'd never heard of them!
That wasn't a problem! They did an excellent job, & have most certainly acquired another fan, as I shall endeavour to check them out again!
With influences too varied to mention, it was great to see not only a new band of youngsters doing such a good job, but also on a stage such as this - and at their local venue!
And BIG respect to the guy on the mic - one of the most…

25 Nov 2009, 17:14 by Tylky1. Meat Loaf - Dead Ringer for Love
The ballad for seeing some across the table in a café/restaurant and thinking they're 'fit' but you don't know who they are. Man, how many times have I been in this scenario before? Great song though, it just makes you wanna rock out and have fun!
Originally a #5 hit in November 1981.
2. Status Quo - Down Down
My love of Status Quo has grown recently, especially when I got their 'Pictures' album. This song just makes me wanna rock out, this helped me through the split of Marina and I.
Originally a #1 hit in December 1974.
3. Sex Pistols - Pretty Vacant
The song my friend Rug (Matt) had chosen at random for his music video project. He couldn't stand the song, which added hilarity to the scenario. In the end, he made a great masterpiece with the song and I think he's gonna get a good grade with it, congrats Rug!
Originally a #6 hit in July 1977.

11 Dec 2008, 23:57 by ob82One of the joys of the internet is the ability to look at list of Greatest Songs of all Time and similar shit and you can often discover quality gems of music. I thought rI’d give the old list thing a bash. Instead of going for the 60’s and 90’s where my favourite music mainly originates I thought I’d take a stab at the current decade. Despite being a two years shy of an actual decade and with my initial misgivings about how music was much better in my day (well, the previous decade) I had a fucking mission to limit my choices. I had to go to 190 songs and I may even edit my choices in the next few days.
This decade has produced some quality tracks in a wider variety of genres than ever before. Although it could be argued that there more “instant classics” in every prior decade since the 50’s. Looking through my list there are too many bands that have really becoming immensely huge. perhaps Coldplay who confound many (including myself) in having three songs in the list. …
21 Nov 2008, 19:41 by partylikesteveWed 19 Nov – Electric Six, Local H, The Golden Dogs
I finally made my way out to Dave Grohl's bar, The Black Cat, on 14th Street in Washington DC 2 nights ago. My bandmates had turned me on to Electric Six, and they happened to be playing there last night. It also happened to be my birthday (happy birthday to me), so why not have a night on the town? It was a cool little place. I'd definitely go back. We missed the first band (The Golden Dogs, I believe), but walked in as Local H had started their set. I liked "Bound For The Floor" when it was getting airplay back in the mid-90's, so it was very cool to see that live. The rest of the set sounded good too, so I was glad to get a chance to catch most of it. I could definitely see myself getting into more of their music...12 years after they're 15 minutes of fame. I seem to have a knack of doing that. Anyway, they finished up. Now for the fun part...
Electric Six comes out, and hilarity ensues. The band has this sound that I can only explain as disco-rock. …
