El Madmo is the new “punk” (but not so much) project of Norah Jones.

On May 12, 2006; Jones (disguised in a blonde wig, heavy make-up, fishnets and short shorts) played guitar and sang vocals in the tongue-in-cheek punk band El Madmo. They opened for the band Pela. The band consists of “El” (Handsome Band’s Daru Oda), “Maddie” (Norah Jones) and “Mo”.

The band kept a blog with information on their performances (http://elmadmo.com/news.html), also a myspace (http://www.myspace.com/elmadmo), they’re not updated anymore.

    I'd like to shine a light on Daru Oda, someone I've been very curious about since Norah's live in 2004 DVD. You might know her as the background/harmony vocalist & flute player in Norah's Handsome Band (& co-writer of some of Norah's songs). Well, she, finally, made an album! We Could Start Raging, available @ Bandcamp. Already since some time ago though, '09, Found out when I saw the DVD again recently & started looking around bout what Daru has been up to. U can scrobble Bandcamp when streaming from site. And plz do, cuz on Last.FM she has only 31 Listeners!!! :( boooooo. How to scrobble Bandcamp: Link, Link & Link
